SACKETTS
Friday I picked up a DVD of the mini series TV adaption of Louis L’Amour’s Sackett books…I got it at Walmart for $5.00.
And Saturday afternoon I watched it. It was made in 1979. The movie starred Tom Selleck, Sam Elliott, Glenn Ford and Ben Johnson as well as a slew of other great character actors like Slim Pickens, Jack Elam and Buck Taylor.
I had watched it when it originally came out, but sure did enjoy seeing Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott back when they were much younger…just as I was.
It was well worth the $5.00 investment.
What ever happened to Jeff Osterhgage who played Tyrel Sackett?

According to IMDB, the Internet Movie Data Base, Jeff Osterhgage did a lot of TV work in the 80s. During the 90s, he had very few roles, but did have a regular part in the revival of Dragnet on television. After 2000, his roles seemed to mostly be in shorts and in the area of voice acting in video games. Apparently, in 2010, he actually starred in a film I am not familiar with. It was called, “Taken by Force.”
Mark, sorry about not responding to you earlier. I’ve been away. Jeff did a great job on Sacketts. Unfortunately, the two superstars sucked all the air from the room.
