WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A SETTLER?
I just got my computer back from the shop…A virus hijacked it. In addition to that the screen on my iphone turned black. I’m waiting for a replacement. To add to all this, it snowed last night and my Direct TV dish is covered in snow, blocking the signal.
Have you ever wondered what it would have been like on the Kansas frontier spending weeks and even months with no contact with the outside world? And when it was time to go into town to get supplies it was usually the man. The woman had to say home and take care of the animals.

I believe I would miss medical care most if I was a pioneer in the old west. Between my diabetes and my heart issues, I don’t think even old Doc Adams from Gunsmoke could have gotten me into my sixties where I am today.
I would miss the ‘horseless’ carriage. What only takes us a few hours today would take days before!! And they couldnt carry all of their household goods when they left the East heading west and being AD military, its nice to be able to move all we have when its time to move.
I have always said that I was born a hundred years to late. Growing up as a tomboy and doing all of the things the boys did I just would not be satisfied to sit around a homestead. I would have to atop a horse in jeans and a gun on the hip. Sorta like in the Quick and the Dead.
I wouldn’t mind going back to the Old West for a couple of days…just to see what it was like. I think I would miss my hot showers.
