From Dakota
Welcome to Cowboy to Cowboy. We’re dedicated to sharing information about the history of our American West, a time better known to all as the Old West.
We’ll be regularly updating our site with information about what happened some 125 years ago as well as what’s happening today as it relates to the Old West.
We’ll have news; audio stories; as well as videos about what happened in the Old West.
We’ll even have an occasional “off the wall” item.
You’ll notice that we even have an opportunity for you to “weigh in” on subjects close and dear to your heart. However, we ask that you keep the comments clean and pithy.
For us, and I’m sure it’s the same for you; “The Old West is a time and place of the heart.”
So, put us as a favorite and come back often. Also, don’t forget to tell your friends.
PS If you’d like it get ahold of us for bookings, banner advertising rates or any questions about the Old West, don’t hesitate to send me a message at dakota@cowboytocowboy.com!

Hi Dakota ,Thanks for the invite to come along on the cowboytocowboy page. I was wondering if you good folks over there would be interested in how we in the UK are keeping the spirit of the old wst alive in our shows and in the Western towns we have built over here. If you think they would be interested i could write a few articles and submit some photos and video to be shared on here. Tony O’Donnell aka Tyrell

Love your site, Dakota. I’m a big fan of all things cowboy & have a site dedicated to some of my favorite tv cowboys (www.tv-cowboys.com). But I love the old west & thank you for your Chronicles & this nice site.
Dakota,
I am a city slicker born in Chicago who fell in love with the old west at a young age. Now a resident of Arizona, I cannot seem to get enough of it. We have a small summer place in Wagon Wheel, AZ and love the chance to bring out the “Italian Cowboy” if you follow The singer Lou Monte!
Thank you for your great website!
Judy, you would sure love the Silver Screen Project that I wrote about today.
Rich, the great thing about Old West fans is that we even welcome cowboys from Chicago…Especially Italian Cowboys.
Question?? why don’t the old cowboys have back pockets? watched old westerns and no one has back pockets.
You’re correct on the cowboy’s pants not having back pockets. First, when you’re in the saddle all day, a wallet or something else in your back pocket can get uncomfortable. And it’s not easy to get something out of your back pocket when in the saddle.
Cowboys wore “four pocket” vests not only for looks and warmth, but to carry their fixens’ etc. And they were easy to get to.
super great job and i am glad you are doing this great work for the old west and the stories…………when my dad was a kid he use to go from okesa, oklahome into bartlesville , oklahoma and get ammunition for henry wells, frank jelly nash and a lot more and bring it back to them………frank jelly nash was killed in kansas city, is it called the kansas city masacre. you can see whee the bullets hit the building ……….Frank “jelly” nash was the smartest of them all. he pulled the last train robbery in oklahoma at Okesa, okla. in the osage hill west of bartlesville, oklahoma about eleven miles west in osage county, osage indian reservation. lots of tails in the country for sure

You ought to write a story about Frank Jelly Nash. Someone like True West might just publish it.
listened to the weekly radio show today about what makes a legend.
can you recommend a good book about Wild Bill Hickok that is accurate and very readable?
thanks
I would recommend “The West of Wild Bill Hickok” by Joseph Rosa.
Enjoy
Frank Jelly Nash engineered two jailbreaks from leavenworth prison. first he got his self out and later on he got some of his gang out. second jail or prison break some of them got killed. dakota keep on keeping on with the great stories and tails from the old west.

Dakota you have talked about radio stations, what are the call letters? This is the first time that I have seen and read on Cowboy to Cowboy and I really like it. I tried to subscribe to the site shown but to no avail.
We have two syndicated radio shows on about 200 radio stations. Go to http://www.ChronicleoftheOldWest.com and request a list of the stations and times.
